All in Print2006

Technical Forum was held on June 16th. Following programs were performed. “LITHRONE S40 and S26/S29”, “DoNet : Komori digital system!, “Create Value Through Differentiation : Value added printing”, “Preventive maintenance of Printing press” and “One pass, double sided printing (Convertible perfector, double decker and web press)”.

Dozens of audiences attended to each program. For special program “Preventive maintenance of Printing press” performed by Mr. Kawana from Komori Japan, almost 140 audiences got together in the room. Many people took notes because Mr. Kawana’s presentation was very realistic using with real used or replaced service parts. He sent such parts and samples of oil to audiences to feel real things. That was very persuasive for them. To reduce the loss by damaged press in printing factory, “Preventive maintenance” thinking touched the chord of Chinese printers.

Komori held a big party at the hotel in Shanghai on June 15th. Around 500 guests attended and enjoyed meal, drink and many attractions.

Before the party, many guests came to the Excellent Sample Corner to see and touch value added printed samples, books and magazines from the world printing companies. Also many guests asked about how to produce such samples to Komori people. That was very busy but enjoyable time for both. This was an good example that the interest for value added printing of Chinese market is getting higher.

Heavyweights of Chinese printing world, executives of Chinese top printing companies, and other people in printing industries were get together in Komori Party. A highlight of the party was the signing ceremony of the scholarship for University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. As a mark of USST’s appreciation, they awarded the emeritus professor to Mr. Y. Komori. This was the wonderful ceremony for future strong relationship between Chinese printing industries and Komori.

During the four hours party, Mr. Komori always smiled, talked and shook hands with many guests.

Komori exhibited two latest models of printing presses on its 600 m2 booth in Hall West 2 to provide solutions for the future printing industry.

At All in Print 2006, exhibition theme is "Create Value Through Differentiation", and Komori's global event theme is : "Kando : Beyond Expectations".


Printing Demonstrations




5-color LITHRONE S40, well known and best selling press already in China, performed special value added printing using with MFX silver ink and gold metallic ink.




5-color LITHRONE S29 came on the scene in China, and put gold ink or special apple or lemon scented capsule varnish into the final printing unit to produce visible and invisible value added printed samples.

Chairs in the booth were many but always occupied before starting the demonstration. In some cases, many people stood on the pathway beside of Komori booth to watch the demo. It was the busiest booth in All in Print 2006! All samples printed on two Komori presses had a great vogue always. When the samples were ready, many people formed a huge line and waited for getting samples. By above reasons, Komori plastic bags were often came across everywhere in the show.


DoNet


To show real JDF workflow at DoNet corner, Komori exhibited Screen Trueflow3 workflow system, World first Chinese version of Olive Printsapiens ERP application, Komori K-Station CIP4/JDF interface system and Komori PCC CIP4/PPF converter. All systems were hooked up the network. K-Station communicated with two printing presses to receive production status of each presses. Such data sent to Printsapiens through network to control print production.

Chinese printing industries are beginning to be concerned about digital data management right now. Some people stopped at DoNet corner to watch private demonstration of each system.

In Chinese prepress industry, still imagesetters and exposure tables are major part of plate making process. For such market, Komori developed new platescanner PSS and exhibited at this show. It can communicate with PQC of the press through network also. Many people were interested in this system.

“All in Print China 2006” at the Shanghai New International Expo Center successfully concluded its four-day show on June 17 to positive results. Shanghai is now in rainy season. Some sunshine, more shower, always hot and humid. Highest of the day is over 30 degrees Celsius.

During the event, more than 90,000 domestic and overseas trade visitors from 60 different countries and regions browsed through the latest innovations and products in the print industry. In addition, more than 13 countries sent delegations to the show.
Attracting 671 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions. The trade fair boasted an exhibition area of 69,000 square meters.



The core concept of this year’s trade fair was “Creative and Value-added Printing Solutions”. As the official press release stated, “The LITHRONE LS26/29 series, the brand new four-page half-size press, was introduced to China’s market by Komori.” and “The exhibition fully displayed and interpreted new trends in modern printing technology development, fully demonstrated new achievements in renovation of conventional printing by means of digital technology and the integration of the two.”
