Norwegian commercial printer AIT Trykk Otta installed a full-spec Lithrone
LS-840P in January to print textbooks and magazines. Managing Director
Tom Enger reports that operation with the new machine, the company’s
third Komori, is exceptionally consistent. He noted that many Norwegian
publishers now outsource printing to other countries in Europe, and this
new investment will allow the company to bring much of this work back to
Norway. Enger says the key feature that guided the company’s decision was
short makeready, since short runs are the dominant trend in the country’s
printing industry. The new LS-840P, he says, will allow AIT Trykk Otta to be
competitive on runs of any length.
